Painful heels and arch and the foot are among the most common complaints seen by the Peninsula Foot clinic team. Heel pain may be a sudden or more gradual onset and can vary from first step pain in the morning to achy feet by the end of the day.

What is the arch?

The arch of the foot generally refers to the curved shape on the inside of the foot, a complex structure of bones, ligaments , joints and muscles. Much likethe span of a bridge the arch supports our body weight as we land and move across the ground , assisting with shock absorbtion.
